L.A. Marzulli, Rob Skiba and Douglas Hamp Discuss Nephilim at Prophecy Summit 2012

IN THE days of Noah, something was going on that Jesus said would be repeated at the time of His coming.  What did He mean by that?

The answer is the return of the giants mentioned in Genesis chapter 6 — or at the very least, some type of genetically altered human hybrid, a claim that appears to have some evidence in the accounts of UFO contactees and abductees.

The round table discussion took place in the main auditorium at the Prophecy Summit at Branson, MO with speakers: Doug Hamp, author of Corrupting The Image: Angels,  Aliens, and the Antichrist RevealedRob Skiba, author of  Babylon Rising 2012; and L.A. Marzulli, author of The Alien Interviews and The Cosmic Chess Match.

About Douglas

  1. Walter Pierluissi

Do you all like to discuss the latest Hollywood FIASCO “NOAH”… I saw it and is actually repulsive for believers… Is so far from the truth that I just can rate it as a Very Expensive FIASCO.

  2. Great Show!! The thing I was left thinking was this… the first time the Seed was corrupted came from Heaven down to Earth,,,the second time,i;e Post-Flood,,,came from the bottom i;e, Hell,,Upward to Earth (via Spiritual Warfare),most likley by alien visitors or demons….GREAT WORK,,See You In THE SKIES!!!

  3. Finished listening to the show last night, and it was excellent. I didn’t know that much about Rob Skiba’s interpretation of the whole Nephilim business (I’d only ever seen him once or twice on Prophecy In The News), and found his ideas very interesting. I’ve got to think more about them, though…

One thing which struck me was when he said, “…I don’t see any news reports about angels mating with humans, but I see lots of new reports about people mixing species…” — I just wonder what he does with the whole ET-abduction-thing. Does he believe it’s a genuine phenomenon or what?

  4. Downloaded the show and listening to it now…

    Great stuff.

Now, you’re a Hebrew boffin, Doug. I’ve got a question about the Rephaim

I discovered today that רפא is translated several rather distinct ways (so distinct that they have separate entries in Strong’s):

Strong’s H7495 – rapha’ — lots of entries pertaining to healing
Strong’s H7496 – rapha’ — ghosts of the dead, shades, spirits
    Strong’s H7497 – rapha’ — giants, Rephaim

Could these all have a common etymology, rooted in what happened back in Genesis 6 (but perhaps now lost in the mists of time)? What’s your take on it?

    • That is a bit tricky to figure out. The basic meaning is healing. However, are the Rephaim healers of some sort or are we looking at two completely different roots that are phonetically the same? That is the big question and I haven’t done an exhaustive investigation to be able to tell you one way or another. Blessings.

      • Thanks, Doug — and apologies for my late reply (been AWOL).

I wondered whether some of the things taught by the Watchers (mentioned in Enoch) might indeed have been healing-related. For instance, Greek mythology is replete with Nephilim/hybrid-type healing-figures (Apollo, Asclepius, Chiron, etc.). Moreover, I don’t know what the U.S. is like, but Britain is a hotbed of ‘healing’ — of the New Age variety (and we all know what that’s plugged into). My cousin found ‘peace’ after a manic life of promiscuity and consumerism when she discovered ‘healing’ through Reiki — she is now a ‘Reiki Master’ and has a spirit-guide who is a talking wolf (no kidding).

I remember at one point (when I was just coming to faith), after driving around a large chunk of my native country and seeing its sights, coming to the conclusion that the future of Britain was likely to be collectivist/Socialist neo-paganism. I think some of the coming ‘lying signs and wonders’ will certainly be healing-related. The world flocked to Jesus to be healed: it was His message that they hated. …Just as He foretold.

But the Antichrist will give them exactly what they want — a no-righteousness-required full service and an upgrade to boot…

Anyway, I’d better go: my goulash is ready…

        God bless,

  5. I have no argument with the concept of the return of the Nephilim, but I take issue with the use of the quote by Jesus concerning the days of Noah to somehow justify the argument that the Nephilim are returning. The context clearly shows in both Matthew and Luke that the Lord was pointing out that people will be going about their usual daily routines; eating, drinking, marrying and so forth, right up until the moment Christ returns. Just as they did before the flood and before the destruction of Sodom and the other cities by fire. Tying in Nephilim here is quite a stretch from what I can see in these quotes. JMHO.
By the way, I couldn’t hear or download the audio, so I hope my assumptions about your thoughts on this matter are not in error.

    • Hi Richard, we have to ask ourselves what was so terrible about the days of Noah – was it merely eating and drinking and getting married? That shows the conditions of the heart but not what was happening in the world – we have to go back to Genesis 6. Every ancient Jewish source clearly understood that fallen angels were on the earth. The audio should work. I just double checked it. Blessings,

      • Maybe I was less than clear in my concern here. I have no argument with the existence of Nephilim. I just don’t think the use of the passage used in your e-mail is justified to argue that Jesus was referring to Nephilim.
“IN THE days of Noah, something was going on that Jesus said would be repeated at
the time of His coming. What did He mean by that?

The answer is the return of the giants mentioned in Genesis chapter 6 “.
        Clearly the answer is:
“26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
        27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.”
        Respectfully, nothing here about Nephilim.
Sorry to be so picky. I am a true fan of both you and L.A. Just pointing out a small contention.
        Thanks again and God bless,

        • Richard, I appreciate your reservations – those are healthy. I had once thought as you do until I realized that in both in the days of Noah and in the time of Sodom and Gomorrah, there was angelic-human breeding going on. Check out 2 Pet 2:4-7 and Jude 1:6-7. Once you grasp the weight of these passages, you see that there was gross sexual perversion happening and the people were going after strange flesh – in manner similar to the angels.

          • This is just another example of your private interpretations of scripture. Your self devised plan of satan trying to corrupt the seed of the Messiah is also not backed by scripture since it is found nowhere in the bible or extrabiblical texts and contradicts Jude 1:6,7 and Genesis 6 that clearly states that the sons of God thought the daughters of men were attractive and LUSTED (that means they were horny not carrying out a devised plan to keep the Messiah away) after having sex with them which they carried out. It says nothing of trying to keep the Messiah from coming or ruining the human genome. How do you know these angels were already fallen prior to carrying out this plan? This might have been their first sins for all we know. Richard is 100% correct above from the context of the passage. The passage is talking about His returning and the way people will be carrying on unafraid and unknowing of what is coming. The bible doesn’t even mention that the men of Sodom and Gomorrah knew they were trying to have sex with angels. If they were, what were they to gain from male on male sex? They were not going to produce any offspring or nephilim with male sex. Men with men, women with woman or either man or woman with angels or animals is all going after strange flesh. The only thing in common in those accounts is that those were the two biggest occurrences of sudden judgement from God for sin and the people were not expecting it. If not please give me another example of a famous example of sudden destruction from God. God was already planning to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because of their sin before the angels even showed up when He discusses it with Abraham. Show me in the bible or extrabiblical texts where it says the people of sodom and gomorrah ACTUALLY had sex with angels. There are many accounts of the sins of sodom and gomorrah but that is not one of them. Read the book of Jasher since you like the extrabiblical texts. You sir have proposed theories, which is fine. They are good theories. But they are nothing more than that without scripture in context to back them up. Please refer to them as theories. You are leaning very hard on your own understanding and private interpretations of these verses to make sense of things for yourself. maybe you are right but maybe you are wrong. You will have to answer for this. ia mcontent to keep my theories as theories. In the clear context what you are proposing is not given which is why you didn’t see it before. “They will mingle themselves with the seed of men……” is a much better passage to use than “In the days of Noah…..”. Many people in the church are turned off by your theories because of this passage being taken out of context. Jesus was so kind to CLEARLY explain what He meant by “The days of Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah”, it was as if He knew they would be taken out of context and it still doesn’t stop some who NEED it to propose the return of the nephilim. Transhumanism seems to be coming either way. By the way, I do enjoy much of your teaching.
