“Heaven and earth will pass away… (Matt 24:35 NKJV) 

the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. (2Pet 3:10 NKJV)

John saw it…

“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth… No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; For the child shall die one hundred years old, But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.They shall build houses… plant vineyards For as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, And My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together….  (Isa 65:17, 20-22, 25 NKJV)

Bottom line: the passing away of the heavens and earth is when the veil between heaven and earth is removed (the Greek work apokalypsis literally means “unveiling”) – that is the day that Jesus comes back at the second coming. The heavens will recede like a scroll and pass away with great noise. The elements and the mountains will melt like wax (Ps 97:4) because Jesus is coming back in flaming fire (2Thes 1:7-8). The men on the earth will run into the rocks because of the enormity of the that day and they will ask themselves “who is able to stand?” (Rev 6:14-17; Isaiah 2) – the earth will have fallen not to rise again. (Isaiah 24:19-20) Every island and mountain has fled away. If that isn’t the passing away of the earth then I don’t what is.

And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.” – Revelation 17:18

Which city is this that reigns over all the kings of the earth? Rome? New York? Mecca?

There are over 90 Characteristics given in the book of Revelation about the city of Mystery Babylon, and none of these three cities meets all of the criteria.

But there is one city that does…or should I say will.

Too often people look for the city of Mystery Babylon in history, or in their present day, as opposed to what the scriptures say we will see in the future.

The Bible tells us exactly which city will be the capital city of the Antichrist in the last days, it tells us the city that will promote the Antichrist’s worship to the rest of the world, and the city in which the Antichrist will institute the greatest persecution of all time.

That city is Jerusalem.
