Help: I am putting together a new teaching package on Heaven, the Millennium, and the Age to Come. I need your input as to what are the top three topics that you would like clarified. Perhaps something like: where do born again believers live through eternity? Or what exactly will we be doing in the millennium? Another might be, what is the point of the millennial sacrifices?
What about the new ISIS/ISIL threat? I’m pretty sure the bible mentions that?
How bout the truth in that the 1000 years is NOT on the earth as so many false teachers try and say it will be. The 1000 year millennial reign along with the 7yr trib and the rapture are all lies from the devil.
God does not purify the earth with fire until after the 1000 year reign as shown in Rev 20. Jesus as conquering King will not step foot on the earth again until it has been purified and evil is gone.
Jesus told us that he prepares mansions for his followers. John in Rev 20 sees thrones and they that sat on them. Judgement is given to them… so what is the 1000 year period?
It is the time period when all who are raised in the 1st resurrection sit on thrones and go through the work of judgement. They will not have any say over who is saved or not as that has been done already by Jesus’ work in the sanctuary. We will have the opportunity to look through the books of everyones life so that when the 2nd death happens we will KNOW that our Father in Heaven is righteous and just. We will know that all who made it to the Kingdom chose that path, and those who do not make it to the Kingdom chose that path.
I have not seen 1 single proof that the 1000 year period when satan is bound and the rest of the dead live not again happens on this earth. Why is satan bound? Because there is NO ONE ON EARTH TO TEMPT. Jer 25 and Jer 4 show us that the dead are from one end of the earth to the other. They are not gathered, lamented nor buried. The earth becomes void and without form again and no man dwells therein. The birds of he air have all fled away.
Satan will get to walk the earth for 1000 years with no one to tempt and see the results of his work of deception. Only when the 2nd resurrection happens will he be able to tempt again. The resurrection of the wicked is why he is loosed.

Hi Nathan – my research shows that the new heavens and earth come at the of the return of Jesus (or shortly thereafter). I think Revelation 20 is clear enough that Satan is bound for 1000 years and is released after that time. What contest is there with the very plain language? The solution, I believe, is to realize when the heavens and earth pass away…the heavens/sky recede as a scroll at the second coming of Jesus. 2Pet 3:10 says that the same thing. I hope that helps.
I think that we ought to be careful about calling people false teachers. None of us has it all right all of the time. Conversation is beneficial and by it we can grow but ad hominems generally don’t change anyone’s beliefs.

The final judgement does not happen until after the 1000 years is done. Rev 20 starts before the 1000 years, then talks about the 1000 years and then states that the dead are resurrected and Satan goes forth deceiving again.
Jer 25 and Jer 4 both show that the earth will sit empty for a period of time. That the dead will be from one end of the earth to the other. The earth is broken down and has no man that dwells therein.
God will NOT set His HOlY city on this earth until there is a FINAL end to sin and the earth is purified with the fire described in 2 Peter. That is what happens after the 1000 years. The wicked dead are raised, satan goes forth deceiving them and they then compass the camp of the saints (the beloved City, New Jerusalem).
When Jesus returns, the sky departs as a scroll (like lightning coming from the east to the west in Matthew 24) and the elect are taken and then in pretty much the same instant, the final bowls of wrath are poured out on the earth and that destroys the rest. That is when Rev 20’s and the rest of the dead lived not again until the 1000 years were finished.
The earth will rest and get it’s Sabbath since humanity will not let it rest. God tells us that he will not make a full end yet.
The saints reign in Heaven with Messiah for the 1000 years (the mansions Jesus spoke of, and thrones that John sees in Rev 20) and then at the end of the 1000 years God makes a full end to sin and the fire that comes down from Heaven devours the wicked dead, the devil and everything else.
Then AFTER sin is finally punished and wiped away from the earth, the city sits on the earth. Read Zech 14 for a description of when Messiah comes (the 3rd and final time … the 2nd resurrection and 2nd death) and stands on the mount of olives and the mountains split preparing the place where the New Jerusalem will sit.
There are many false teachers. I pray all the time for God to remove any false thoughts or understandings from me. I ask Him to strike me dead before he allows me to spread un-truths about His Word because I don’t want o share my understanding and opinions, but HIS HOLY TRUTH.
The masses cannot accept the truth and have no love for what the Word of God really says. This is seen all the time in the churches that are filled with people with itching ears, listening to a preacher who gives a feel good message.
I know that I likely offend people, and make them mad. But so did Jesus when He flipped over tables and whipped the people out of the temple. He also offended the pharisees and saducees when he told them they are of their father the devil and called them snakes and vipers.
The puzzle is so much bigger than just a few verses. To truly study the whole plan of salvation and what is to come from the point of Jesus 2nd coming and when the City of God comes from Heaven, we must look at the Gospel, Revelation, Isaiah, Zechariah, Hosea and the rest of the prophets.
Jesus told us that Moses and the Prophets speak of Him. They speak of all he is to do and has done.

Hi Nathan, I appreciate that you are taking a good look at the rest of the Scriptures. I think that we are in agreement that many teachers tend to have a myopic view with primarily Revelation in mind and they fail to incorporate the rest of God’s Word into their scenarios. I discovered in Isaiah 65:17 that God says he creates new heavens and a new earth but in verse 20 there is still death present. How would you understand that?

In v20, it spans from before the 1000 years, and continues after it. We must remember that the puzzle is not always in time sequence. The visions that John gets are bouncing around much of human history.
By the end of Rev 20, we see the all the wicked are slain with the fire that comes down from God out of heaven.
This fire will utterly DESTROY ALL. The earth will be razed and burnt up. 2 Peter says
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
So he mentions this fire that will destroy the wicked. He then says that the 1000 years will be like a day with the Lord.
It goes on to say
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
So we can see that Peter is talking about the same fire from Rev 20 that will melt the elements (heavens) and the earth will be burned up.
Isaiah gives another view of this same thing. Look above v17 and see what leads up to the creation of a new Heaven and earth….
12 Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
13 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:
14 Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.
I can’t point to a verse to prove this, but from what I see in the whole puzzle, God will SHOW TO ALL HIS ELECT how creation worked and how HE spoke it and it was so. Once He destroys the heavens and earth with fire, it will be utterly laid waste and not fit for habitation. So he must recreate things so that it can be inhabited again.
We were not the first creation of the Father, and we would be foolish to think that we were the last. We see in the prophets that humans will reside on the earth.
Isaiah 11
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
This seems to point to a new human race that is created with the elect being priests and kings over this new humans race.
Think of how great of ambassadors we will be to this new human race that does not have to deal with Satan shooting His fiery darts at them. We will be able to give them 1st hand knowledge of our own experiences to what SIN brings.
So, the view of the puzzle I see is that Jesus comes and calls the elect. The rest of the population are killed and wait in the grave with those who did not get called out. We go to Heaven and inhabit the mansions and sit on thrones of judgement to judge the world.
Why do we do that judgement? The fate of all are decided by that point, but those who were not part of the elect will include many of our loved ones. God wants to be justified in what He is about to do at the end of the 1000 years.
Imagine having a thought brewing for 10,000 years in your mind about someone you just KNEW would be in the Kingdom of Heaven. That is a LONG LONG time to let a speck of doubt grow into full blown hatred in thinking that God made a mistake.
We will look through the books of everyone’s lives for that 1000 years so that in the end of it all, we KNOW THAT GOD OFFERED EVERYONE THE OPPORTUNITY and THEY chose to turn against him.
Once God is completely justified and innocent in our own hearts by the seeing with our own eyes, then the final punishment comes and burns up the earth and all that are in it. Isaiah 65 shows us:
15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
The servants of God will see that the names of the wicked were a curse and that they will be slain.
