Blood Red Moons and the Second Coming: Are the Four Blood Red Moons Signs of the Rapture

Blood Red Moons and the Second Coming

Are the Four Blood Red Moons Signs of the Rapture?

The rapture of the Church is believed by many to be very close due to a series of four lunar eclipses which fall on biblical feast days. According to Joel 2:31, the moon will be turned into “blood before

the Day of the Lord.” Because the “Day of the Lord” is frequently believed to be equivalent to the seven years of the tribulation, then the moon becoming blood red is considered to be a sign of the impending tribulation, and if the tribulation is near, then so too must be the rapture. In other words, the theory rests on two major premises and a conclusion:

  • a phenomenon which causes the moon to turn red points toward the Day of the Lord and
  • the Day of the Lord is equivalent to the tribulation;,
  • therefore, the rapture will happen soon because believers are taken out of the world before the tribulation.

When dealing with a syllogism (a logical argument), the conclusion can only be true if the preliminary premises are true. There are, however, two major mistakes in this theory of the blood red moons. The first is that they are focusing solely on the moon, when the Bible is clear that there will be a phenomenon in the sun and the stars too: the Bible clearly tells us how the sun, moon, and stars become darkened. The second error arises from assuming that the Day of the Lord is the same as the tribulation. The Bible is also clear that these are two distinct events. We will explore both issues in this article.

First though, to be fair, I must admit that I once believed in the blood red moon craze. It made sense and it was exciting because it just so happened that between 2014 and 2015 there would be a tetrad (a series of four lunar eclipses where the moon turns to a reddish color). Add to that fact that those would occur on biblical feast days, and voila! You have something of Biblical proportions!

Messianic pastor Mark Biltz was the first discover that these eclipses fell on biblical feast days, and then pastor John Hagee followed it up with a book of his own. As a dedicated researcher, I also went to the NASA website to check the dates for myself. I was excited to discover that there really would be eclipses at those stated times, and they had indeed occurred in the past. In fact, those occurrences in the past seemed to line up with other significant events in the life of the Jewish people. For example: There was a tetrad in 1492 when Columbus sailed the ocean blue which was the same year that the Jews also got kicked out of Spain…that was definitely significant. There was another tetrad in 1949, just after the War of Independence. Then there was another tetrad which was around the time of the 1967 Six Day War. Since all of those seemed to be very significant, then the tetrad of 2014-15 would invariably be significant as well and could in fact be a sign of the nearness of the rapture.

Is Just the Moon Affected?

Blood moon Figure 1

Figure 1 Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Lava flow with full moon

I was sad to discover that I could not hold the theory any longer because the moon-turning-to-blood had to also be accompanied by a sign in the sun and the stars. The tetrad / blood red moon sign fails because it focuses solely on a phenomenon in the moon, when Scripture is clear that simultaneously with the moon turning to blood, the sun will be darkened, and the stars will not give their light. We see this when we look at the entire verse in Joel 2:31:

The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome Day of the Lord. (Joel 2:31)

In the same chapter of Joel, where the moon turns to blood, we discover that “the sun and moon grow dark, and the stars diminish their brightness.” (Joel 2:10) This is confirmed from the book of Isaiah where we read about all three phenomena occurring: the stars don’t give their light, the sun is darkened, and the moon doesn’t shine:

For the stars of heaven and their constellations will not give their light; The sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine. (Isa 13:10)

Therefore, the blood red moon prediction fails twice in the book of Joel and also once from the book of Isaiah because three things must occur for the sign to be valid: the sun, moon, and stars must not give their light. Obviously, the sun has not grown dark, nor have the stars diminished their brightness.

The Day of the Lord is the Day Yeshua Returns

One of the strongest proofs we have that the Day of the Lord is the same as the second coming (and not the entire seven year or 3 ½ year tribulation, depending on how you see it) is the fact that God alone will be exalted in that day. In Isaiah 2, God twice declares (in verses 11-12 and 17) that in that day He ALONE will be exalted. If God exclusively will be lifted up in that day, yet during the tribulation, there exists someone who is blaspheming him, then the tribulation cannot be that day:

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, And the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. For the Day of the Lord of hosts Shall come upon everything proud and lofty, Upon everything lifted up– And it shall be brought low– (Isa 2:11-12)

Yahweh Himself declares to us in no uncertain terms that He only will be revered in that day, and hence, it cannot be the same as any part of the tribulation since we are also told in equally explicit language that one known as the Beast, Little Horn, or Antichrist, will exalt himself and speak blasphemies against God and against those in heaven for a period of forty-two months. God foretells this through several of His prophets, thereby confirming the matter by at least two witnesses as required by His own instructions.

Daniel sees this three times in his visions, thereby establishing it and even highlighting the future reality:

…And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words. (Dan 7:8b)

“I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words which the horn was speaking… (Dan 7:11a)

He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host… (Dan 8:11a)

“Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. (Dan 11:36)

He shall regard neither the God of his fathers nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall exalt himself above them all. (Dan 11:37)

Paul taught about the “son of perdition” who would exalt himself as God:

who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. (2Thess 2:4)

Lastly, in the Book of Revelation, John is told three times (which confirms the severity of the offense) that this person will blaspheme God and those who dwell in heaven:

And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. (Rev 13:5-6)

We must therefore conclude that during the tribulation, God is not being glorified or worshipped as God, but is in fact being blasphemed in a way unlike any in human history. That being the case, there is no way that the Day of the Lord, in which God alone is exalted, could be the duration of the tribulation. It must refer to the time immediately after the tribulation, also known as the Second Coming of Yeshua, because without question, He alone will be exalted in that day.

When and How Will the Blood Moons Take Place?

Since the tetrads are not an indicator of the timing nor are they the means by which the moons turns to blood and the sun and stars are darkened, what is? Does something physically happen to them? God has revealed to His prophets what will cause the darkness and blood red moon to occur.

God first declares that the conditions which cause the sun to be turned to darkness and the moon to turn to blood will be because of clouds and thick darkness:

A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains (Joel 2:2)

God goes on to declare that there will be “blood and fire and pillars of smoke.” (Joel 2:30) So, there will be lots of smoke and clouds. Yahweh repeats this through his prophet Zephaniah:

That day is a day of wrath, A day of trouble and distress, A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, (Zeph 1:15)

Yahweh confirms it through the prophet Ezekiel as well:

When I put out your light, I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, And the moon shall not give her light. (Ezek 32:7)

So, we see that the three things – sun, moon, stars – are going to be darkened because of a clouds and thick smoke. Finally, in the book of Revelation, Yahweh shows us from where the smoke comes that will cover the sun, moon, and stars. It is the Destroyer (Abaddon) opening the Abyss.

Satan and his angels (described as stars in Rev 12:4) will be cast to the earth. John is shown that the great star (Satan/Abaddon) is given the key to open the Abyss which results in a tremendous amount of smoke coming out which darkens the sun and the air, just as described in the former prophets:

“And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit.” (Rev 9:1-2)

Hence, Yahweh has revealed how the sun, moon, and stars will be darkened which will be from the great amount of smoke that will be released when the Abyss is opened.

Red moon from fire in California

Figure 2 Smoke from the Tea Fire 2008 gives full moon blood moon effect

How could smoke in the sky cause the moon to become blood red? Several years ago, there were some forest fires in Southern California, where I live. I looked up and saw that the moon was blood red. At first I thought it was a sign, but then I realized that when the moon is covered by smoke (ash), it appears red. Figure 1 shows a moon as seen through smoke.

Figure 2 is another picture of the moon seen through a layer of ash from a fire in 2008. The moon has predictably appeared to change color because of the smoke.

Figure 3 California fires darken sun

Figure 3 California fires darken sun

If that smoke is thick enough, it would cause the sun to be darkened, just like as if it were covered by sackcloth, and it goes without saying that the stars – which are lesser in light than the sun – will not give their light. This is not speculation, but observation. Figure 3 is from a California fire that darkened the sun. As witnessed from the smoke covering the sun, it then had the appearance of being covered by something thick and dark…like sackcloth.

In 2011, the Eyjafjallajökull volcano erupted, releasing smoke like a great furnace, offering us an example of what to look for. It covered the entire sky of Iceland and grounded flights across Europe because of the ash. The sun looked like it was covered with sackcloth (See figure 4).

Examine the photos in this article or conduct your own internet research to see for yourself. Notice

Figure 4 Smoke billows like a great furnace from Icelandic volcano

Figure 4 Smoke billows like a great furnace from Icelandic volcano

that the smoke coming out of a volcano is enough to cover the sky, “like out of a great furnace” and can cover the sun, moon, and stars.

We have seen that the sun, moon, and stars will all (simultaneously) fail to give their light because of the opening of the Abyss, which will be like the opening of a great furnace. The smoke that comes out will cover the sky and consequently block the light of the sun, moon, and stars; the verses we have discussed and the pictures in this article give an illustration of how it might happen and what

Iceland Eruption Sky covered billows of smoke figure 5

Figure 5 The 2011 Eyjafjallajökull volcanic eruption covers the sky

it could look like.

Thus the blood red moons of the four sequential eclipses are completely a non-issue when it comes to why the moon turns to blood. To suggest that the tetrads hold any biblical significance is fantasy; not a single Bible verse supports the theory. What the Bible does tell us is that the timing of the blood red moon will occur sometime after the Abyss is opened. This event will happen after Satan is cast down from heaven being defeated by Michael and his angels. Sometime after being cast out, he is given the key to open the Abyss and then smoke rises out like out of a great furnace so that it covers the sky, somewhat like what happens at the eruption of a massive volcano, like that of Iceland in 2011 (Rev 12:4,9; 8:10-12; 9:1,2,11). Thus the timing of the blood red moon is after the mid-point of Daniel’s seventieth week and the means of the moon turning to blood is the sky being covered by the smoke which rises from the Abyss. (See my video The Second Coming and the Battle of Armageddon for a more detailed explanation.)

Conclusion

In conclusion, the blood red moon craze is something that is based on a faulty foundation. Its first assumption, that the four total lunar eclipses are the fulfillment of the blood red moons mentioned in Scripture, fails because the sign must appear not only in the moon, but also in the sun and stars. The tetrads, both past and present, while very interesting astronomical occurrences, are not equal to or even related to the blood red moon as described in Scripture.

The second assumption undergirding the blood red moon craze is that the blood moons happen before the tribulation, and are therefore an indication of its imminent commencement. Because we are told that Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day, and yet the antichrist/beast is blaspheming Yahweh during that time, then there is no way that any part of the tribulation could be associated with the Day of the Lord. The Day of the Lord must occur immediately after the tribulation. Only when Yeshua returns will God alone be exalted. Therefore, the blood red moons, caused by smoke and cloud, are a sign of the return of Yeshua, not of a pre-tribulation rapture.

Finally, the Bible gives the reason for the moon turning to blood and the diminishing of the light of sun and stars – it is not an eclipse, but rather, it is the opening of the Abyss, which will probably happen around the mid-point of the tribulation. When the Abyss opens, smokes pours out like the smoke out of a great furnace, which will then cover the sky blotting out the light of the sun and stars  and will turn the light of the moon blood red.

Millennium and Beyond Basic Outline

Here is a basic outline of the big events of the second coming, the millennium, and the final rebellion of Satan. If you would like to see these details fleshed out, then check out my book, The Millennium Chronicles. (The verses included are not exhaustive).

When Jesus comes back the heavens (veil between heaven and earth [Ezek 1:1; Acts 7:56]) rolls up like a scroll [Isa 34:4, 64:1; 2Pet 3:10; Rev 6:14]  – then every eye will see him [Isa 40:5; Rev 1:7] and he will come in flaming fire [2Thess 1:7,8] – the elements will melt with fervent heat [2Pet 3:10]. His coming will be like a thief in the night [iThess 5:1-5; 2Pet 3:10] and all the nations of the earth will be completely startled [Hab 3:6]. Jesus will then defend Israel and fight against the A.C. and the armies of the world at the battle of Armageddon, which takes place in Jerusalem (by the way) [Zech 12:1-6, 10, 14:1-3; Rev 14:18-20]. When he is done the blood will be up to the horses’ bridles (because it is in new valley that will be created when his feet touch down. The angels will then invite the birds of carrion to come and have a feast because where the body is there the eagles (carrion) will gather [Mat 24:28; Rev 19:17-18]. Meanwhile the angels have gathered the elect (wheat) and the wicked (chaff) and brought them before Jesus [Mat 13:30; 24:29-31; Luke 3:17] . He will then judge them and separate them. The wicked (who have taken the mark) will then be sent to the lake of fire (remember Jesus/God have a river of fire flowing out from them) [Mat 25:31-44; Ezek 1:26-28; Dan 7:9-11].

The New Heavens and Earth come at this point (I don’t know the exact moment) [Isa 65:17; Rev 21:1; Rom 8:19-22; Matt 19:28] – they must come because the heavens have already been rolled up and the earth has fallen not to rise again, all the oceans have turned to blood, and all the islands and all the mountains have moved out of their places [Rev 6:14-17; 16:4, 20]. The earth is destroyed [Isa 24:19-21] – hence, a new earth is absolutely needed. Once the earth has been renewed, the New Jerusalem will descend like a bride. [Rev 21:2-9] Only those who have a new body can go in. [Rev 22:14, 15]

The question then, is what about the mortals? At this point we must speculate just a bit. There are clearly people who have been resurrected and or raptured and hence have their new glorified body [1Cor 15:51-52; 1Thess 4:16-17]. However, there will also be those who are mortal [Isa 65:17-23]. Where do the mortals come from? My speculation is that there will be a group of people during the time of Jacob’s trouble who have not taken the mark and yet have not fully put their trust in Jesus for whatever reason. They will begin the millennium as mortals and then have the opportunity to become immortal by partaking of the river of life and the tree of life [Zech 13:1; Ezek 47:12; Rev 22:1-2, 17]. When they have changed they will then be able to enter into the New Jerusalem (which is on the earth already) [Rev 22:14]. For those who are mortal they will need the millennial sacrifices as a protective measure against the fire of God [Ezek 43:18-27].

One of the biggest misconceptions is that the sacrifices were nothing more than symbolic or a preview of what Jesus would do. Actually, the Hebrew for “sacrifice” is “korban” which means to come near. Essentially, it is the object needed for the worshipper to come close to God. The thing that it does is “kaphar” or covers. I think the word “atonement” is an unfortunate translation – “cover” is more to the point. The blood of the animal covers the worshipper in the same way that a force field covers and protects a person. Force fields, by the way, are real. We have a massive force field protecting planet earth – it is called the Magnetosphere and without it life would not be possible.

Anyway, mortals need a covering because the covering that currently protects all of us, will be removed at the coming of Jesus – it will roll up like a scroll and pass away with a great noise. For one thousand years, mortal and immortal will dwell together and those who so choose will take of the water of life and the tree of life and be transformed so that they can enter into the New Jerusalem. However, there will be those who will strangely choose to not be transformed. Perhaps they are waiting for option “B”? In any event, Satan will be released after being imprisoned for one thousand years. He will go out and be the champion of those who want him [Rev 20:7-10]. It is hard to believe but there will be tons of people who prefer to throw their lot in with him rather than follow Jesus. They will then stage the biggest coup in the entire history of the cosmos and make a direct assault against the New Jerusalem (the beloved city) itself. But then fire will descend from God and consume them. The apparent reason for this is that the time that Satan will have one year to deceive the nations. We know that because in Daniel 7 it says that the rest of the beasts had their lived prolonged for a season and a time [Dan 7:12]. The word for time is “idan” which is the same as “a time, times, and half a time” which is 3 ½ years. Hence, one “idan” is one year. Thus Satan and the demons will have one year following their “season” of a thousand years in the abyss [Isa 24:21, 22]. During the thousand years, the feasts and sacrifices were being observed. When the thousand years end, the sacrifices will presumably end as well. Once they end, there will be no new yearly sacrifice on Yom Kippur and hence there will be no renew of the covering made for all of the mortals. Thus, when the year after the thousand years comes to an end, the power of the covering will completely vanish and then the fire of God will consume those who are not protected.

After this, those who were in the abyss prior to the return of Jesus will be brought before him to be judged. Satan and all of the demons will be cast into Tophet/Gehenna and the abyss and even death itself will be destroyed [Rev 20:11-15]. Jesus will then give the kingdom to the father so that he may be all in all [1Cor 15:24-28].

Then what? Well, life just goes on without death, without any mortals, without anyone who is not fully committed to God. There will only be immortals. At this point, I imagine that God will come down off this thrown and will walk over to Adam and Eve and ask them if they would like to go for a walk and that walk will then go on forever! I believe you will like my book, the Millennium Chronicles as I detail and show how the whole thing comes together.

  25. Ezek 1:26-28 26 And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. 27 Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. 28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking. NKJV (ES)

A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court[2] was seated, And the books were opened. 11 “I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words which the horn was speaking; I watched till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning flame. 28. Rom 8:19-22 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Rev 20:7-10 7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where[2] the beast and the false prophet are. 46. Dan 7:1-28 1 Vision of the Four Beasts Daniel’s Vision of the Four Beasts In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head while on his bed. Then he wrote down the dream, telling the main facts.[1] 2 Daniel spoke, saying, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great Sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. 5 “And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: “Arise, devour much flesh!’ 6 “After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it. 7 “After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. 8 I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words. Vision of the Ancient of Days 9 “I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire; 10 A fiery stream issued And came forth from before Him. 12 As for the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time. 13 “I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed. Daniel’s Visions Interpreted 15 “I, Daniel, was grieved in my spirit within my body, and the visions of my head troubled me. 16 I came near to one of those who stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me and made known to me the interpretation of these things: 17 “Those great beasts, which are four, are four kings[3] which arise out of the earth. 18 But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.’ 19 “Then I wished to know the truth about the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet; 20 and the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, before which three fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke pompous words, whose appearance was greater than his fellows. 21 “I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. 23 “Thus he said: “The fourth beast shall be A fourth kingdom on earth, Which shall be different from all other kingdoms, And shall devour the whole earth, Trample it and break it in pieces. 24 The ten horns are ten kings Who shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first ones, And shall subdue three kings. 25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute[4] the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time. 26 “But the court shall be seated, And they shall take away his dominion, To consume and destroy it forever. 27 Then the kingdom and dominion, And the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, Shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And all dominions shall serve and obey Him.’ 28 “This is the end of the account.[5] As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance changed; but I kept the matter in my heart.” NKJV (ES)
  47. Dan 7:12 As for the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time. NKJV (ES)
  48. Isa 24:21 It shall come to pass in that day That the LORD will punish on high the host of exalted ones, And on the earth the kings of the earth. NKJV (ES)
Isa 24:22 They will be gathered together, As prisoners are gathered in the pit, And will be shut up in the prison; After many days they will be punished. NKJV (ES)
  49. Rev 20:11-15 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God,[3] and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.[4] 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. NKJV (ES)
  50. 1Cor 15:24-28 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For “He has put all things under His feet.”[1] But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all. Effects of Denying the Resurrection NKJV (ES)

The Debate over the End: Pastor Paul Viggiano and Pastor Douglas Hamp over how the World Ends, with Brian Godawa. (branchofhope.org)

The End of the World has been a fascinating area of biblical study for Millennia. Recorded live at the, “It’s the End of the World as We Know It Conference” at Branch of Hope Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Torrance, CA, Pastor Paul Viggiano (Historic Post-Millennial) a Presbyterian and Pastor Douglas Hamp (Dispensational Pre-Millennial) of Calvary Chapel discuss in a rich and irenic fashion what the Bible says about how the world ends.

This is easily the most interesting debate of it’s kind in recent years and one of the most approachable for those seeking to understand this intensely interesting and confusing area of Christian concern.

Moderated by Brian Godawa before an audience of hundreds we’re sure you’ll enjoy this earnest discussion.

Bible Study with Douglas Revelation 17 April 18 2013

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, (Rev 17:1) “with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.” (Rev 17:2) So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. (Rev 17:3) The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. (Rev 17:4) And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. (Rev 17:5) I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement. (Rev 17:6)

Bible Study With Douglas Revelation 2 (video) The Church of Ephesus

Douglas begins Revelation chapter 2 by examining who is in the Church of Ephesus. The conclusion may shock many because the Jewish people are the “we” in the book of Ephesus and the “you” are the gentiles. This demonstrates the Jewishness of the book of Revelation and how the book needs to be viewed through Jewish glasses first and foremost. Read the article: Why God Did Not Elect Calvinists to get a better understanding of who are the “elect” in Scripture.
